Timi Rodgers is my younger brother. Out in Vancouver he produces and fronts Nocturnal Angel: doom, grunge, and prog. Their second single “Fantasy” was the Canadian Track of the Day in Blog #2. The band’s bio, in their own words:
Nocturnal Angel is a Doom, Grunge, and Prog inspired band located in Vancouver, Canada, serving as a creative outlet for Timi Rodgers (producer/vocalist) after taking a step away from his first band in the city, Green Alderson, for a time. After writing his first few songs, Timi struggled to find dedicated band members for the project, until his friends and roommates stepped in out of a love for the music, and a desire to help him turn his songwriting into a vibrant set.
They greet you first with soft, soothing, vocal melodies, followed by blistering riffs, and soul-bending guitar solos. With lyrics as relatable as they are reflective and deep, Nocturnal Angel prepares to dive even deeper into their roots in progressive, grunge, and doom music, with one goal: to fuse the darkness from one side of their musical palette, with the beauty and refinement of the other.
